Description

As of the writing of this post, my great friend :iconshonuff44: and I had the distinct honor of meeting up with some of the Katbox comics crew. Those being :iconchalodillo: :iconfreelancemanga: :iconmastergodai: and :icontonyg79:

While they were only passing through our area (as they were well on the way to a convention up in Pennsylvania) it was still an incredibly fun experience nonetheless. We got show the guys around downtown Baltimore for a good portion of the afternoon, and Shonuff44 even got to try out Fogo de Chao for the first time. For those who don't know what that is, it's an awesome Brazilian Steak House that I highly recommend going to if you have the chance.

Moving on though...

Since I had the group right in front of me, I figured I'd help commemorate the awesome occasion by providing Mr. Chalo with a couple of pieces of Gift Art. You see, for a long time, I've been a huge fan of the webcomic Las Lindas, and our leading cowgirls Mora and Alejandra have always been personal favorite characters of mine. With that said, after completing the Alejandra portrait, I moved on to a bit more a sexy piece for Mora Linda.

I've always loved how Mora had this fiery/spunky attitude, and for some reason my mind said that I should draw her straddling a pillow. I think her slight mischevious smirk pulls the whole image together, but I won't deny that I had a blast working on her shorts. I figured I'd try a few hatching techniques to give her shorts some more texture, and while it doesn't look too bad on the scan here, I think the inks look way better in person. I'm also a little sad that the pencil work I left in for her freckles and fur patterns didn't exactly scan too well either, but what can you do some days right?

All the same, Chalo said he loved my work on this one, and even told me that I may have inspired him to start working on physical media again.

Materials used for this piece was a Kurotake Medium Tip #8 brush pen on Bristol board.
